Leaked: Samsung GALAXY S6 Pricing Details Surface

Will be second only to the iPhone 6 Plus.

 

We all know that Samsung will be hosting its Unpacked 2015 event in Barcelona on the 1st of March. The event that is set at the beginning of the Mobile World Congress will see the launch of some interesting Samsung devices (may be even the Orbis smartwatch) along with the now confirmed Samsung GALAXY S6 and more importantly the S Edge.

While the news about the same got confirmed a few hours ago, it makes sense that some more details about the same begin to surface online.

Oddly, AndroidPit got hold of the European pricing details of the smartphone. And while it sounds pretty high for a flagship, we do have to keep in mind that the S Edge is made of metal and does deliver a display with a bent dual-edge screen.

The standard GALAXY S6 handset that comes with a flat screen is expected to come in 32, 64 and 128 GB options. The pricing as per sources is expected to be €749 (approx. Rs 53,000), €849 (approx. Rs 60,000), and €949 (approx. Rs 67,000) respectively.

As for the premium GALAXY S Edge, it will come in the same memory options of 32, 64 and 128 GB and will sport price tags of €849 (approx. Rs 60,000), €949 (approx. Rs 67,000), and €1049 (approx. Rs 73,411) respectively.

Whether the price tag for the GALAXY S Edge is worthy or not will depend on whether it is a practical device. It seems fine considering that an iPhone 6 Plus costs a lot more. As for the standard GALAXY S6, the high price tag will indeed face a lot of competition from brands like Xiaomi, that will dominate certain markets with its Mi Note Pro, obviously at a much cheaper price tag.

So it indeed all depends upon how quickly Samsung can out these handsets in the market to get a head start before the Qualcomm invasion begins. Still then, these are leaked details, so we have to take such information with a pinch of salt.
