Xiaomi May Launch The Mi 4 In India On The 28th Of January

Half a year old, it makes a bit of sense to put it up on sale now.

Xiaomi may have finally geared up for the sale of its Mi 4 smartphone that was announced last year in July. Reports claim that the Xiaomi Mi 4 may go on sale online on the 28th of January, giving thousands of Xiaomi fans a chance to buy the smartphone.

Since the Mi Note and Note Pro have not launched as of now, the Mi 4 is indeed the current flagship in Xiaomi’s smartphone range and was the successor to the successful Mi 3.

It is pretty strange though that a smartphone that was announced almost 6 months ago, took so much time to get here (its still not here yet). As in the case of most manufacturers, it usually takes just two to three months for its handsets to reach markets after the official announcement.

This has however not been the case with Xiaomi. The manufacturer has been reviving its smartphones from time to time (Redmi 1S) when required and still manages to draw in new Xiaomi fans, with older hardware and software (Jelly Bean). Compare this to the YU Yureka and you will get a clearer picture about what we are talking here.

Xiaomi fans will indeed be a bit confused as to which smartphone they should go in for now, as the Mi Note seems like a better purchase given that the internals are updated and new. But considering the pricing, that is expected to be between Rs 17,000 - 20,000 we can safely say that it will fit in below the Mi Note.

Still then, we can be sure that buyers will line-up at Flipkart the day it goes on sale; given the fan following that Xiaomi has in India.

As of now the only competitor to the Xiaomi Mi 4 price-wise seems to be the OnePlus One, that is available only via the invite system on Amazon.
