XOLO Introduces Q1000S, The Slimmest Domestic Smartphone

Other than its 7mm slimness, it has enough firepower to take the Micromax Canvas 4 head on.

XOLO has released its latest high-end smartphone, the Q1000S. This handset is the successor to the Q1000. As found in most domestic handsets in this segment, the Q1000S features a quad-core MediaTek MTK 6589T chipset clocked at 1.5 GHz. The phone packs in a 5" HD IPS screen with OGS display technology, earlier seen on the XOLO Q700. It has pixel dimensions of 720x1280 with 294 ppi (pixels per inch). The phone ships with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Similar to the recently reviewed Play T1000, this phone comes with a single-SIM slot. What makes it stand out from the crowd though, is its 7 mm slim body. This makes it the slimmest 5” smartphone ever produced by a domestic manufacturer. The Q1000S also comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with BSI 2 sensor that’s said to enhance low-light photography. XOLO claims that the snapper can capture clear images even when the camera is shaking using the image stabilisation technology.

Although I would have appreciated a smaller screen, the XOLO Q1000S is still a promising device. The phone is priced at Rs 19,000, which is quite adventurous for a MediaTek-based domestic handset. But it seems to have all bases covered as it takes on the Micromax Canvas 4 head on.
