Lava Launches Iris X5 4G With 8 MP Front Camera At Rs 10,750

The new smartphone's front camera is better than the recently launched Iris X1 Selfie smartphone with 5 MP front snapper.

After recently launching Iris X1 Selfie smartphone with front LED flash, Lava has now come up with yet another Iris series smartphone dubbed the Iris X5 4G.

Priced at Rs 10,750, the new smartphone is now available for purchase via Amazon India at a discounted price of Rs 10,199.

As the name suggests, the smartphone supports 4G networks and the USP is that it runs on the company's very own 'Star OS' which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Speaking about the specifications, the Iris X5 4G smartphone is a dual SIM device with 5 inch HD IPS display offering a pixel density of 294ppi while protected by Asahi Dragontrail glass.

The smartphone also comes with a 64-bit 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of in-built storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card slot, 13 MP rear camera with f2.0 aperture, dual LED flash and Largan Lens with blue glass filter.

The rear camera features scene detection, face recognition, low light enhancement, Panorama, geo tagging, burst shot, smile shot, and HDR options.

Also the smartphone has an 8 MP front facing camera for some great selfie moments.

On the connectivity front, the Iris X5 4G, apart from 4G, offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, GPS/ A-GPS, and Bluetooth options.

The smartphone comes packed with a 2,500 mAh battery and sensors such as accelerometer, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.

Having everything said about the smartphone, we feel it will be taking on the new Moto G (3rd Gen), Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and Lenovo K3 Note - all priced around Rs 10,000 range.

To recap, the Lava Iris X5 4G was also listed on the GFX Benchmark website revealing the specs back in July this year.
