Samsung GALAXY K Zoom Now Up For Pre-Order On Amazon India

After a grand launch at the Red Dot Museum in Singapore, Samsung is all set to launch its Lumia 1020 competitor in India.

Good news for shutterbugs as the much-awaited GALAXY K Zoom is now up for pre-order on online retailer Amazon India. The phone is priced at Rs 30,000 and will be released on the 9th of July on the shopping website. The camera smartphone saw a grand launch at the Red Dot Museum in Singapore and after a two-month wait it has finally surfaced online for sale.

As of now the phone is available in Charcoal Black, Electric Blue and Shimmery White and is up for pre-order at a pretty low price. The retail price as marked on Amazon is said to be Rs 39,990, meaning Amazon will give you a hefty 14 percent discount. This is a pretty good deal if you want to get your hands on a K Zoom at the earliest at the best possible price tag. What’s more is that Amazon will even throw in a free Auto-Pop Cover coupon, and a 32 GB micro SD card as well. That aside the retailer will also offer Rs 1000 coupons for shopping on watches and handbags along with 6 movie tickets.

Spec-wise, the Samsung’s K Zoom indeed offers a lot more than the Nokia’s Lumia 1020 camera smartphone. The GALAXY K Zoom sports a compact 4.8 inch SuperAMOLED HD (1280 x 720p) screen and a 6-core Samsung Exynos 5 Hexa (5260) SoC with a hefty 2 GB of RAM, running Android KitKat out of the box. Internal memory will stand at 8 GB, while the micro SDXC cards can provide up to 64GB of storage for those large 20 MP photographs.

The K Zoom comes with a 20.7 MP 1/2.3 inch BSI CMOS sensor and a 10x, 24-240mm F3.1-6.3 zoom lens with optical image stabilization (OIS) for the primary camera. So you can be assured that there will be no blurry photographs even at the far end of the zoom. The front-facing camera is smaller 2 MP unit (smaller when you compare it to a HTC One M8 that is). Assisting the sensor is a Xenon flash module with LED autofocus assist. The smartphone camera hybrid is capable of recording 1080p video at 60p which is an achievement, but will immediately get trounced by most flagships that offer high quality 4K video recording today.

While the GALAXY K Zoom even looks the part with the faux-leather dimpled back, Nokia’s offering certainly looks a lot more robust and drop proof.
