Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Leaks Out In Crystal Clear Live Images

Leaked specs confirm the non-removable battery, which will be a deal breaker for many.

By the time you have finished reading this article, you will have made up your mind about whether you are going to line up for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 or not. Yes, there have been plenty of details that have leaked out in the past, but today’s leak is beyond compare as we finally get to see some crystal clear images of the soon to be announced Galaxy Note 5.

Along with the leaked images of the Galaxy Note 5, we also have some leaked out hardware details about the same, and also about its sibling the Galaxy S6 edge plus.

The leaked images are clearly the best ones we have seen this far. They show off the ultra-thin bezels of the Galaxy Note 5, along with the 3D curved glass on the back that is strikingly similar to the Xiaomi Mi Note. Then there’s the S Pen, which is now confirmed to pop out thanks to a spring-loaded mechanism.

The metal and glass construction seems to have been inspired from Samsung’s current flagships, the Galaxy S6 and the S6 edge.

Coming to the specs of the Galaxy Note 5:

  • We have a 5.7 inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) Super AMOLED display
  • Inside, we can expect the same Exynos chipset as on the Galaxy S6 siblings, the Exynos 7420
  • However, the chipset will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage with no external storage options
  • As for the camera, we have a 16 MP primary unit (with OIS) and a 5 MP selfie unit up front
  • The battery will be a non-removable 3000 mAh one, which is disappointing, considering that the slightly smaller one in the Galaxy S6 was not up to the mark

Also leaked out were the specs of the Galaxy S6 edge plus:

  • We get a slightly smaller 5.5 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with dual curved edges
  • Inside we can expect the same Exynos chipset as on the Note 5, the Exynos 7420
  • The chipset will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage with no external storage options
  • As for the camera, we have a 16 MP primary unit (with OIS) and a 5 MP selfie unit up front

The Galaxy S6 edge plus seems to make up for two handsets, a competitor to the iPhone 6 Plus and the edge version of the Note series like the Note Edge, which was announced last year alongside the Note 4.

Samsung seems to be making a pretty bold statement here in terms of the battery. While we understand that Apple uses smaller batteries for cosmetic purposes, Samsung’s reasoning to switch to fixed batteries with a device as productive as the Note 5 simply seems a bit too lame.

While the S6 siblings are already costing Samsung sales, we are pretty sure that the smaller batteries in the Note 5 and s6 edge plus may lead to similar problems. Still then, lets hope Samsung has some neat tricks up its sleeves on the 13th of August because we all know that battery life is a problem with the S6 series.
