FCC Filing Leaks Out A Few Details Of The Lumia 435

Makes things pretty clear that Microsoft’s focus for mobile is on the budget and mid segment only.

An FCC filing has finally confirmed that the Microsoft made Lumia 435 indeed exists. Well, thanks to the filing, we also get a few more details of this long-rumoured handset that will in all probability be the software giant’s next big budget release.

The filing sheds some light on the screen size of the budget Lumia 435. We now know that the device sports a display resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and that it measures 4 inches diagonally. But the handset will also be slightly smaller in dimensions when compared to the Lumia 535 and will be powered by a swift Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 SoC. Also included will be a 5 MP primary snapper for clicking photos and recording videos.

The device will come in a number of variants worldwide meaning that Microsoft is indeed pretty serious about the budget segment. But this could pose a problem higher up the ladder as the company off late has not released any new flagship devices. The much-rumoured Lumia 1030 (McLaren) again will not make it to the market and sources point to the fact that Microsoft plans to launch just the Lumia 435 and another device tagged as the RM-1110 at the MWC 2015 in Barcelona. This means that there will be no flagship device from Microsoft until the IFA Berlin next year.

While Microsoft’s focus is indeed on the low and mid range devices, we are pretty sure that there are number of Windows Phone fans who have been waiting for a true flagship device (with a proper imaging experience) on the platform. This long wait will only make things worse for Windows Phone, which already does not seem to be doing too well when it comes to apps.
