Tim Cook Promises Better Security And Privacy With Apple Products

The CEO in a letter reassured users that the company is completely overhauling its data policies after recent incidents.

 

The Wall Street Journal has reported a letter that Apple CEO Tim Cook has published to assure its users that Apple is taking security seriously. The letter simply talks about how the company will be overhauling its security systems and how seriously Apple takes the privacy and security of its iOS and Mac users.

Indeed there is not much that can be done now that milk has already spilt, but Tim Cook’s letter to users is kind of reassuring. Cook basically goes on about how Apple does not share any of its user data with the government and that fact that Apple itself does not sniff through user’s emails, iMessages and the rest.

Further down, he emphasizes on iAds and how strict Apple’s app policies already are. There is also the launch of the new security page that educates users on how they can keep their personal information secure and even opt out of requests from services such iMessage, FaceTime, iCloud, Safari, Maps, Siri, Mail, the App Store, the new Health application, HomeKit, Spotlight, and the upcoming Apple Pay system.

Apple just yesterday made two-factor authentication available for its users in the wake of the recent iCloud photo hack that exposed personal photos of a number of Hollywood celebrities.
