Update: Here’s Why WhatsApp Is Missing From The Windows Phone Store

Technical issues have forced the company to pull down the app for now.

New Windows Phone buyers have probably held on to their Nokia Lumia 630 purchases because WhatsApp suddenly seems to be unavailable in the Windows Phone Store. The messaging app seems to be working fine for those who downloaded it earlier with no usability issues whatsoever, but new buyers somehow cannot see the app available for download.

The app which came to the platform pretty-much late when compared to other mobile platforms, seems to have been pulled down due to technical issues for now.

"Unfortunately due to technical issues, we have chosen to un-publish WhatsApp Messenger on the Windows Phone platform. We are working closely with Microsoft to resolve the issues and hope to return to the store shortly. We apologize to our users for the temporary inconvenience."

There is no reason for Windows Phone users to panic as we already know that WhatsApp has indeed been working on its messaging platform. We have seen leaked beta screenshots in the past showing a new Modern UI themed WhatsApp complete with customisable backgrounds and more. So expect a better version of WhatsApp to show up when its available online.

The only problem is that buyers will have a hard time choosing a Windows Phone considering that the already lacking app ecosystem of Windows Phone now lacks the world’s most popular messaging app.
