Karbonn Prices Their New A50 Smarphone Under Rs 4000

The A50 offers dual-SIM support to users, and competes with a similar range of Micromax smartphones.

Karbonn's A50 joins Karbonn's A4+ and other budget smartphone that the company has released recently. The smartphone is a new addition to Karbonn's low-end smartphone series, and is priced at Rs 4000. The handset has a 3.5" display, and provides dual-SIM support, which is its USP. Although the device runs on the now-outdated Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, its 1 GHz processor should make the device fit for everyday use.

Karbonn A50, being an entry-level smartphone, packs in a 3 MP camera rear camera. The key technical specifications of the A50 include:

  • 3.5" capacitive touch screen with 320x480 pixels.
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, pre-loaded with WhatsApp.
  • 1 GHz single-core processor.
  • Dual-SIM support,
  • 3 MP rear camera, and VGA front camera.
  • 256 MB RAM.
  • 512 MB internal memory.
  • MicroSD card slot for expansion up to 32 GB.
  • Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, 2G , microUSB.
  • 1300mAh battery with a claimed talk time of 5 hours and standby time of 200 hours.

The smartphone competes with the likes of Micromax Bolt A35 (priced at Rs 4,250) that sports a 4" display. However, Karbonn A50 has a better camera than that of the Bolt A35 (2 MP rear camera), and is also priced lesser.
