OnePlus To Introduce A Pre-Order System Soon

The ‘invite system’ will still be the easier way to attain a OnePlus One.

Seems like OnePlus is eating its own words once again. The company has now said through its official blog, that it will be introducing a pre-order system for its ‘flagship killer’ smartphone, the OnePlus One.

The Chinese company has clearly detailed how the system works in a blog post, which also reveals that the current invite-based purchasing system will persist.

The problem as OnePlus puts it, is simply due to inventory or rather having an excess of it. This is a problem which even Xiaomi deals with to prevent losses. The smaller the number of devices you produce, the safer it is. A problem that OnePlus has been aware of and has so far dealt with successfully. The issue arises when demand is more than supply. Also OnePlus has realised that there are many who would like to purchase its smartphone but simply have no patience to acquire an invite. This is why they are soon going to introduce the pre-order system.

The pre-order window will remain open only for a limited time during which interested buyers will be able to place an order. If the smartphone happens to be in stock along with accessories demanded, OnePlus will ship them right away. If not, then customers will have to bear up with the long wait until the next batch is ready and will be catered to in priority before the next pre-order windows opens.

As for the invite system, it will persist and will be wild card of sorts. This because you can skip the pre-order queue if you happen to obtain one while you have already placed your order on the website. OnePlus will cancel your pre-order and ship your handset to you immediately.

The complex pre-order system will be set up by late October and OnePlus will allow you to add and modify your address and other things days before the pre-order window opens. With so much hype we could expect the website to crash if the company has not prepared for it; still then OnePlus is still better than Xiaomi in these terms as the number of orders that can be placed in such a system is unlimited.
