iPhone 6 May Sport A 2 Ghz CPU Based On The A7 Chipset

The company was the first in the smartphone space to introduce 64-bit processing and now plans to take things to the next level.

Acccording to rumours iPhone 6 will sport the A7 chipset disguised as the A8, but with a higher clock speed. We all love the iPhone and apps and games work smoothly even at the 1.3 GHz clock speed. So this time around for the iPhone 6 Apple will not be changing much apart from the clock speed of the processor, which will be bumped up to 2.0 Ghz.

Indeed it is something that seems unnecessary right now, but this may indicate the presence of pixel dense screen because of the increase in size from 4 to 4.7 inches (and even a 5.5 inch one). Clearly, all of those pixels will need a faster processor and some more RAM as well.

The A8 processor for now is said have the same architecture as the 5s’ A7 with dual-cores, but will run at a faster 2 Ghz clock speed. Apart form this, the chipset is rumoured to be made using the 20nm manufacturing process that translates into better energy efficiency and a longer battery life along with a lighter iPhone. Samsung’s GALAXY S5 still uses the 28nm technology, while we are still confused as to what Exynos 5433 will bring into the game.

As for the iPhone and Apple, its clearly not a numbers game as the company has demonstrated over the years. This is evident from how their smartphones efficiently make use of the puny (for Android) batteries and still get you through a day's use.
