Leaked: First Photographs Of The Lumia 530

The entry level handset looks strikingly similar to the Lumia 620.

While rumours of the Nokia Lumia 530 are still hot, actual photographs of the handset have surfaced online on a Weibo account. The upload “iokeyboy” states that the phone in the image is definitely not the Lumia 620 meaning that this is the Windows Phone 8.1 powered Lumia 530, the successor to the popular Lumia 520.

How do we know it will come with Windows Phone 8.1? Well, The on screen navigation keys which are pretty similar to the ones found on the Lumia 630 that was launched a month earlier. The on screen keys not only make it cheaper to produce by removing the touch sensitive units that come on the normal Nokia handsets, but also adds a bit of colour to the navigation bar.

Design-wise we think its a way too thick but thanks to the rounded design, it will grip better compared to the Lumia 630 which keep slipping out of most hands. Again it looks very similar to the Nokia Lumia 620 that was launched back in 2012, although it is not available in this colour.

After showing up at the FCC on Wednesday, it seems that Microsoft will be launching the handset as early as this month. Again the product release roadmap that leaked out on Wednesday also indicates the same. Lets just hope that Microsoft does not cut down on the RAM like the 630, which turns out to be a big problem when it comes to apps.
