Note 4 To Include 12 MP OIS Camera Instead Of 20 MP ISOCELL

The Korean electronics giant similar to Apple seems to be fighting for space in its quest to keep up with Apple’s anorexic iPhones.

Samsung is trying hard to keep up with the competition and the rumours point out that the Korean smartphone maker will be opting for a 12 MP optically stabilised camera module for the GALAXY Note 4 instead of the 20 MP ISOCELL sensor that it had been talking about earlier.

It is expected that Apple may make the switch to OIS, which is something many manufacturers have hesitated to include as it makes phones bulkier. Samsung has been avoiding the issue for a very long time and now it seems there is no way out to make low light shots crisper and video recording less jittery.

The company was talking about including its ISOCELL technology, which produces more vibrant images with accurate colours. But then again, it is no answer for low light scenarios that could be the reason for the move to OIS.

The GALAXY Note 4 is expected to be slimmer than its predecessor with thinner bezels for the display. This is why we think that the camera unit with OIS comes with a reduced mega pixel count to prevent the camera unit from protruding way too much out of the device.

So far the only camera smartphones from Samsung with OIS in recent years has been the GALAXY K Zoom and its predecessor the the S4 Zoom, which simply do not fall in the ‘slim’ category.
