Nokia Launches The Snapdragon 800 Powered Lumia 930

A carbon copy of Verizon’s Icon, the Lumia 930 has some big shoes to fill.

Sporting some updated hardware, the Nokia Lumia 930 is finally ready to take on the flagship droids in the Android space. Nokia finally unveiled its latest flagship which is a spitting image of Verizon’s Icon handset. The Lumia 930 also sports the new colour theme which shares a striking resemblance with the Indian national flag.

Lately, Nokia was always the company that gave you a flagship device, with something less or something more (Lumia 1520’s giant screen). But this time around, they seemed to have hit the sweet spot; offering some new hardware with the best software for its flagship. So the Lumia 930 is surely a sight for sore eyes.

The handset features a stunning 5 inch super sensitive Full HD (1920 x1080) ClearBlack AMOLED display with mind-boggling pixel density of 441 ppi. On the back is primary 20MP PureView camera unit with a bright f/2.4 lens with Optical Image Stabilisation and a dual tone, dual LED flash.

Inside, the Nokia 930 comes packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC with a 2.2GHz quad-core CPU coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. The memory capacity of the device cannot be expanded, which is rather strange for flagship device with rich 1080p video recording capabilities.

On the software front, the Lumia 930 run Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box. Also included are all of the Lumia imaging apps such as Nokia Camera, Creative Studio and Cinemagraph which makes taking creative photos a breeze.

Expect the Nokia Lumia 930 to roll out globally in Europe, Asia, Middle East and India around June with a $599 (approx. Rs 35, 981) price tag.
