Nokia Takes The Wraps Off The Budget Lumia 630 And 635

Sporting some impressive hardware specs, Nokia is all set to compete with the budget droids.

Announced first, was the Nokia’s first dual SIM Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia 630. The Lumia 630 has been designed as a budget phone with some Moto G killing specs and a price to go with it. The Nokia Lumia 630 comes in two variants, a single SIM and a dual SIM version with similar hardware specifications. Alongside the Lumia 630 which runs on 3G bands, Nokia also launched its 4G variant, the Lumia 635 with similar specifications.

Once you get past those vibrant colours, you will notice the 4.5 inch (854 x480 pixel) FWVGA ClearBlack LCD covered with Gorilla 3 glass. The Lumia 630 and 635 also sport almost similar hardware specifications, with the addition of 4G bands on the 635.

Inside, you will get the latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system with onscreen navigation buttons and a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC. 512 MB of RAM is a standard affair between all three devices, which will also include 8 GB of internal memory and micro SD card slot expansion up to 128 GB. The handsets lack a front-facing camera while a 5MP auto-focus primary camera will take care of the imaging duties. The phones come with a sufficient 1830 mAh battery which should keep the devices running for a day.

Price and build quality is what counts when it comes to the budget segment for mobile phones. The Lumia 630 will begin rolling out in May in Asia for a price tag of $159 (approx. Rs 9,524) for the single SIM and $169 (approx. Rs 10,123) for the dual SIM version. You will have to wait a little longer for the 4G/LTE version (635) as it will be available in select regions starting from July for a steeper $189 (approx. Rs 11,353).
