Nokia Lumia 630 Press Image Surfaces Prior Launch

The mid-range smartphone is speculated to feature a 4.5-inch screen.

After introducing the X series with three phones, Nokia is all set to add new members to its Lumia family. If Twitter handle @evleaks is to be believed, Nokia is set to announce the Lumia 630. The successor to the good old Lumia 625, is also rumoured to be one of the first phones from Nokia to run Windows Phone 8.1 out-of-the-box.

Designed to be a mid-segment device, the 630 looks a lot like its predecessor. What sets it apart from the budget segment though, are the rumoured hardware specifications. The phone is said to pack in a powerful Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM which should make launching apps and multi-tasking a breeze in Windows Phone 8.1. What’s more interesting, is that it will have virtual navigation keys as well, which is again compatible with the Windows Phone 8.1. Looks like the Moto G just got a worthy competitor from the Windows Phone camp.

Let’s just hope Microsoft and Nokia have something bigger to announce as well in the form of flagship device when it announces Windows Phone 8.1 in April. Our fingers are crossed for now.
