Nokia X To Launch In India On 10th Of March

Its bigger brother, the Nokia XL will see an April launch.

The Nokia X showed up on an online store sporting a budget price tag of Rs 8,500 just yesterday and now we have even better news. We just received an invite which states that Nokia will in fact be launching the Nokia X on the 10th of March here in India. What’s more is that we also received news that Nokia XL will be launched somewhere in April.

The Nokia X sports a 4-inch IPS screen with 480x800 pixels. It’s powered by a Snapdragon S4 chipset clocked at 1.5 GHz. For photography, there’s a 3 megapixel camera. Other features include 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal storage, micro SD card slot, and 1500 mAh battery.

The Nokia XL which will see an April Launch will keep big screen aficionados happy as well (let’s just hope it is priced competitively). A large 5 inch screen fuelled by a larger 2000 mAh battery is bound to keep the phablet market happy considering Nokia’s flawless build quality. A slightly higher amount of RAM with 768 MB and a more capable 5 MP camera will also attract buyers in this category if priced right.

On the software front, Nokia X series runs a highly modified version of Google’s Android OS. The Finns call it the Nokia X Software Platform. It will lack popular Google services such as Maps. Expect Hangouts to be replaced by Skype, Google Drive with OneDrive, Gmail with Outlook, and Google Maps with HERE. Users won’t have access to the Play Store either, but side-loading apps is possible. Recently, Nokia announced that 75 percent of all Android apps are already compatible with Nokia X.

So will you go in for the Nokia X? Or will you wait till April for the more capable Nokia XL?
