iPhone 5S Users Complain Of Windows-Style BSoD Issue

Problem seems to occur when using iWork apps on iOS7.

Apple's woes with the latest iPhone 5 variants seem to be growing. First, there had been reports of cutting down production of the iPhone 5C by half (along with reports of price cuts in the US too), citing lack of demand for the colour version of the device. Now, iPhone 5S users have taken to Apple forums, complaining of Blue Screen of Death when using certain apps. Apple forums, and Twitter to an extent are buzzing with the issue on the handset, which is said to crop up when multitasking alongside its iWork apps that is bundled free with iPhone 5S.

The issue is affecting all iOS7 users, who use the iWork office apps suite. So basically, forget about doing any productive work on your iPad. The latest iOS 7.0.2 patch addressed the lock-screen security bugs, but it hasn’t taken care of these reboot issues. One work around that has been suggested on the forum by users is to turn off pages, numbers, and keynote from iCloud's documents and data. However, that will affect users who switch between devices to access documents.

Earlier, there have been reports of issues with Apple's iMessage service, post iOS7 update. Although a report on AllThingsD does hint at a hardware-level issue, the OS optimisation troubles cannot be completely ruled out.

Since the phone is not officially available in India yet, we can only hope that a fix is underway, so that Apple fanboys don’t have too much to worry when they finally pick up the device of the shelf. In the meantime, check out the video below to see how the error crops up:
