Narendra Modi SmartNaMo Phones Go On Pre-Order

Prices start at Rs 18,000; one of the models already sports a sold out tag on the e-commerce site.

 

If you thought that the Narendra Modi special handset was a spoof, well, think again. Dubbed as the SmartNaMo Saffron, the NaMo fanclub has not one but two versions of the smartphone, with both in 16 GB and 32 GB variants. And all of these are now up for pre-order on e-commerce site, Snapdeal.com. Of these, SmartNaMo Saffron One 16 GB (White) has been already sold out. Now, NaMo is not just short for Narendra Modi, but it also means "Next Generation Android Mobile Odyssey" as the product description suggests.

The phones are touted to feature:
- Mallika Sherawat's Happy Birthday set as Ringtone
- Angry pro-Hindutva slogans set as notifications
- Congress branded Angry Birds with UPA top brass as bad piggies
- Blocking of social drinking apps such as unTappd, Mixology
- Preloaded contacts of L.K.Advani, Vajpayee, and the like

The Saffron One 16 GB version has been priced at Rs 18,000 and 32 GB variant can be yours for Rs 23,000. The Saffron Two (32 GB) is worth Rs 34,000. You can book the handsets at Rs 1000 now, with shipping expected to commence by the second week of October. Thankfully it is an Android handset, so chatting with NaMo over Google Hangouts will be quite a breeze.
