Nokia’s Metal-Clad Lumia 925 Launches In India For Rs 34,000

The Windows Phone device has 4.5" AMOLED HD screen and PureView camera with a 6 lens assembly.

The successor to the Lumia 920, and Nokia’s first Metal-clad Windows Phone device, the Lumia 925 has finally reached the Indian shore. The smartphone is currently available from the company’s official e-store and other popular online stores for Rs 34,000.

This smartphone, announced back in May, runs Microsoft's latest Windows Phone 8. Being a Nokia handset, this device packs exclusive apps such as HERE maps, Nokia Music, and digital camera lenses. Similar to the Lumia 920, this one's powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 chipset, featuring a dual-core 1.5 GHz CPU, and Adreno 225 GPU. It has an 8.7 megapixel PureView camera with Carl Zeiss optics, and Optical Image Stabilisation. According to Nokia, the 925 boasts of a 6 lens assembly, which is superior to the 920’s 5 lens module. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, NFC, and 2000 mAh battery. Similar to the Verizon exclusive 928, you get a 4.5" screen with pixel dimensions of 768x1280. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 2, with ClearBlack tech for better sunlight legibility. Thanks to Nokia's super-sensitive screen tech, you can use the phone with gloves on.

Moving away from the bold colours, the Lumia 925 will only come in boring Black, White and Grey. For those who want to add a dash of colours can buy additional snap-on wireless (induction) charging covers (compatible with Nokia's charging plate DT-900) that are available in Yellow and Red, along with Black and White.

Nokia has also listed its latest and greatest camera phone Lumia 1020 as coming soon on its official website. For photography enthusiasts, it makes sense to wait for the 1020. Those who prefer a stylish phone should consider the Lumia 925.
