Videocon A24 Android 4.2.2 Smartphone Released, Available For Rs 4700

The dual-SIM smartphone with a 4" screen is powered by a dual-core processor.

Videocon, that last unveiled a 5" screen Android 4.2 Jelly Bean smartphone called the Videocon A55HD, is now back with the Videocon A24, priced at Rs 4700. The A24 runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and is driven by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. A24 also provides dual-SIM support to users.

The USP of Videocon's new smartphone is the Android 4.2.2 operating platform, which considering the price of the phone seems like a good bet, on paper. A24 comes with a 256 MB RAM, which will not give you a smooth Android experience. Videocon A24 competes with another similar low-cost Android 4.2.2 phone, the Intex Cloud X3.

The key technical specifications of Videocon's A24, according to an official press release include:

  • 4" WVGA touch screen.
  • Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
  • 1.2 GHz dual-core processor.
  • Dual-SIM support.
  • 3.2 MP rear camera; front VGA snapper.
  • 256 MB RAM.
  • 512 MB internal storage.
  • MicroSD card slot support for up to 32GB.
  • Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, GPRS, microUSB connectivity.
  • 1450 mAh battery.

Videocon's latest offering betters Intex's Cloud X3 with a larger display (3.5" in the latter), the primary camera (2 MP in Cloud X3), internal storage (115 MB internal storage in Cloud X3), and to an extent, the processor (1 GHz dual-core processor in Intex handset).
