Zync Launches Six Dual-SIM GSM Feature Phones; Prices Start At Rs 1400

Affordable handsets feature 1.3 mp camera with dual-LED flash, expandable storage, and internet connectivity.

Zync, a company known mostly for low-priced tablets, has entered the mobile phone segment with six inexpensive feature phones. The C18, C21, C22, C24, C27, and C30 are dual-band GSM, dual-SIM handsets that feature dual standby and sport a bar form factor. The screen size starts at 1.8" and goes up to 2.6", while the pixel dimensions range from 128x160 to 240x320. All six phones have a 1.3 mp camera capable of video recording, and support for up to a 4 GB microSD card. All except the C18 support GPRS and EDGE connectivity. The models with internet connectivity feature Facebook, Yahoo!, and MSN Messenger apps. Here is the specifications sheet:

As feature phones, these sport a few extras that you don't usually see on more expensive handsets: A dual LED torch, Hindi/English support, and FM radio. The amount of battery backup is not mentioned, but the phones' battery capacities range from 1200 mAh to 2000 mAh. This should deliver decent talk time and standby time figures, considering that there are no power hogging features (large touchscreens, fast CPUs).

The six phones all come in two colours, black and red. The C18 is priced at a low Rs 1400. The C21, C22, C24, and C27 cost Rs 2000 each. The C30, the most expensive of the lot, is still very affordable at Rs 2500.
