iPhone 4S Sales Cross 4 Million Over First Weekend

It keeps on shattering the record of its predecessor.

Apple has sold over 4 million units of the new iPhone 4S in just three days after its launch on October 14. The company had sold 1.7 million units of the iPhone 4 during its first three days last year. We had earlier reported that the iPhone 4S had pre-orders crossed a million within a day. The new device keeps on shattering the record of its predecessor.

Apple's iPhone 4S appears similar to the iPhone 4, but has upgraded the hardware by leaps and bounds. It comes with a dual-core processor and an 8 MP camera with 1080p HD video recording. It also supports a voice activated personal assistant called Siri, although we feel it is more like an accessibility feature in an operating system. It also has the iCloud to share content with your other Apple devices.

On a side note, Apple has said that 25 million users have already started using their new operating system, iOS 4 iOS 5, while 20 million have signed up for iCloud so far. There is little doubt that this number is also going to increase at an exponential rate.
