Do you enjoy travelling, but are holding back because you don't have enough funds? Don't have a valid passport or are facing visa issues? Now you needn't sulk, because all that you require is a good internet connection, a stable browser, and a decent monitor to embark on a memorable journey around the world. The only downside is that you can't pick up any souvenirs. If you don't mind that minor inconvenience in the plan, here are four websites that help take you on an armchair tour from the comfort of your own home.

1. AirPano.com
   The website has been created by a bunch of Russian photographers and panorama lovers, and offers an amazing visual experience for international destinations. You can enjoy viewing high resolution images from aerial angles captured by helicopters. Panning through the area using your mouse is easy; however you cannot zoom too close to capture minute details. Some destinations are available in lower resolutions for users with slow connections, while there are several locations that can also be viewed on an iPad or iPhone. However, iDevice users cannot view high-res videos as these require Flash support.
    
2. panoramas.dk
   This website offers 360-degree Virtual Reality (VR) panoramas from interesting locations around world, featuring images contributed by some of the best VR photographers in the world. These views are not limited to tourist locations alone, but also cover a wide variety of shots including architectural wonders such as the UN General Assembly and Olympic stadiums. The portal also features space shots from the Mars Rover, so basically it takes you on a joyride to outer space as well.
    
3. View360.in
   If you are not a globe trotter, and are more of a homebird, then view360.in is the way to go. While the south of India has been thoroughly covered on this portal, the service is also moving up north, with locations such as Ajanta Caves now featuring and Ellora Caves coming up soon. You can also get information regarding tourism for some locations. However, if you are looking for places up north, then this website is of little use for you. Having said that, the portal is impressive and promises to get better with more locations coming up soon.
    
4. IndiaVRtours.com
   If you want to take a trip of famous locations up north of India then this website can be of some help. Although it is the least impressive of the lot, the portal makes an attempt to help you capture the essence of the place. You are offered tours for places such as the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort, and Pushak Camel Fair among other interesting locations. While the quality of images distort at full screen mode, the website is still worth a visit.
