Micromax Invests In Gaana; Plans To Integrate App Into Handsets

New Micromax users will get a limited period subscription for the Gaana+ service that allows advertisement free audio listening.

Homegrown smartphone company Micromax has recently announced that it has invested in popular online music streaming portal, Gaana.com.

However, no further information regarding the amount being invested has been disclosed by neither by Micromax nor by Gaana.

But, with Micromax investing in Gaana.com, it is not far for the company to preinstall the Gaana Android app in its upcoming smartphones.

In sync with this, it is being said that the new Micromax users will also be receiving a free trial subscription to Gaana+ which allows to download unlimited songs for a specific period of time. The main advantage of getting the Gaana+ subscription is that users can listen to songs without any advertisements disturbing in between.

With this move, the company is trying to emphasize once again its efforts to build an ecosystem of connected devices.

Previously, Micromax has invested in various startups like Ixigo, HealthifyMe and Scandid to name a few.

To recall, the company also recently entered into the laptop industry with the launch of its debut laptop dubbed as the Canvas Lapbook priced at Rs 13,999.

Also, if you can remember, Gaana was in news earlier this year when a hacker had allegedly breached in to the user database.
