Vivo's Noida Plant To Be Operational In 3-4 Months

Vivo is expected to produce one million handsets by the end of next year.

 

Of late, we are seeing many smartphone companies stepping in to manufacture the handsets in India in terms with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Make in India" movement.

Adding to this, Chinese handset-manufacturer Vivo has announced on Wednesday to setup its new manufacturing plant in Noida which is also expected to be operational in next 3 or 4 months.

The company also announced that the 3 lakh square feet Noida facility will be able to produce one million handsets by the end of next year. Also, by the end of this year, the company is looking to hire around 2,000 people.

It is worth noting that Vivo is one of the top three players in China in terms of revenue and would be investing Rs 125 crore by the end of the year in India.

The company also launched recently its 4G LTE enables X5 Pro smartphone at Rs 27,980, however, without the eye scanner found on the Chinese version of the smartphone.

Speaking about the device, it comes with a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor and a 2 GB RAM with 16 GB internal space expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card while running on Android Lollipop with Vivo's Funtouch OS 2.1 on top of it.

The smartphone, which has a 13MP rear and 8M front camera, comes with a 2,450mAH battery, dual SIM slots and a 5.2-inch super AMOLED full HD display.
