World Series Hockey Now Live On YouTube

Catch all the hockey excitement online as it happens.

The IPL model seems to be quite a hit among sporting bodies in India, with several such initiatives such as the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) and the ongoing Bridgestone World Series Hockey (WSH) going the city-based club way. While the former is not a novel concept to begin with, it surely has changed the face of the game in the country in many ways. In a bid to revive viewer interest in India's national game (read hockey), the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) in collaboration with Nimbus Sports has flagged off the first instalment in this annual tournament. Following a format similar to IPL, WSH has launched its own YouTube channel to stream all the matches live, albeit the announcement has been made public only after the league stage matches are more or less over.

Played between eight teams, you can catch the live video stream that starts by 16:55 on match days. Reports claim that there is no time lag (unlike IPL with had a 5-minute delay between broadcast and streaming) and offers smooth streaming, even on slow connections. Although most of the matches are over, you can still watch matches 51 to 56, followed by the semis and the grand final which will be played on the 1st and 2nd of April. For now, you can view highlights of the past matches.
