OxygenOS App Drawer And Weather App Revealed In Leaked Screenshots

Looks very promising indeed.

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus had revealed just a week ago the name of the UX that it is working on. While we all know that it will be using Android as the base, what is interesting, is the top layer of the UX that most manufacturers usually don’t get right even after repeated attempts (Samsung, we are looking at you!).

Well, anxious OnePlus fans can now relax as the some screenshots of OxygenOS have finally leaked out. While they did not come from an official channel, this indeed might be an early build of the actual thing.

The leaked screenshots reveal a flat UI keeping in line with Google’s Material Design theme, but still staying unique (very OnePlus-like) with faded colours. The app drawer does not seem to crowd things up, is well spaced out and has apps segregated by category.

As for the other leaked images, they belong to the Weather app and look very well made even though they lack any details. It would be interesting to see what the final result would be (if they are animated slides or static ones) but for now they simply look beautiful.

The source of the leaked screenshots mentions that OnePlus had hired IUNI OS team back in December to develop the skinning and what you see here may be some older screenshots of the OS in development. Seems like the break up with Cyanogen seems to benefit users after all.

OnePlus owners must indeed be excited after this reveal and it indeed makes sense, since there will be a lot to show when the Chinese smartphone maker announces its OS on the 12th of February. Hopefully the update begins seeding on the same day as well.
