Micromax Has Xiaomi In Its Crosshairs As The YU Yureka Goes On Sale Today

If you have not registered, you clearly do not qualify to “Play God”.

We loved the CyanogenMod-powered YU Yureka smartphone that came in for a review. Every part of that device is pretty much spot on, especially when you consider that it will retail for a price tag of Rs 9000 online, at 2 PM today.

As ET reports, the response has been massive, when we say massive, we mean “Xiaomi massive”. More than 3,00,000 customers signed for the first batch that consists of just 10,000 smartphones.

Micromax after joining hands with Cyanogen seems to have designed a budget busting monster that literally gobbles up Xiaomi’s Redmi Note for breakfast. While everyone out there (other than OnePlus owners) wants to get CyanogenMod’s bloat-free software on their Android devices, Micromax delivers just that with a smartphone that sports Cyanogen’s unique features... Officially.

No wonder it is a Redmi Note killer. This is more so because the YU Yureka sports the brisk 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 inside and 2 GB of RAM to keep up with those speeds.

Is Micromax attracting Xiaomi’s customers? As of now things seem to be that way.
