Micromax And Cyanogen Join Hands To Announce YU Brand Of Smartphones

The partnership will indeed take things to the next level for Micromax.

Micromax and Cyanogen have finally joined hands and announced a new brand called YU. The brand focuses on the user and will have smartphones built by Micromax running the Cyanogen OS. While the devices will be developed by Cyanogen, Micromax having the expertise would be building and selling them online in India by December.

For those of you who are not in the know, Cyanogen did refuse Google's bid and was in talks with Micromax for long. YU is the outcome of all those talks and hopefully will turn out to be an international brand like OnePlus that certainly attracts a whole lot of attention these days.

Kirt McMaster, CEO of Cyanogen, said:

“We’re excited about this partnership as we share a common vision around a powerful user-focused mobile experience. It’s only the beginning as the partnership unfolds. Micromax + Cyanogen = revolution. Stay tuned for many awesome new innovations that will arise from this collaboration.”

The concept that both companies have in mind is to directly engage with consumers and develop innovations that solve the problems that consumers have been facing for ages. These would not only involve software and hardware problems but will go way beyond these as well.
