Octa-Core Huawei Honor 6 Launched In India; Available From October 6

Seems like an interesting combination of price versus performance.

Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has announced its newest mid-range smartphone called the Huawei Honor 6 for the Indian market. The handset packs quite a punch and keeps up with the competition in the looks department as well. Seems like local smartphone makers have one more smartphone to keep up with when it comes to the bargain performance handsets in the sub Rs 20,000 range.

The Huawei Honor 6 does look pretty impressive from the outside. The unique diamond shaped texture on the back (especially on the black model) along with the metal frame kind of puts it on top with the premium smartphone designs out there.

As for the specifications, they do keep up with the looks and will put up a fight with the current crop of mid-range smartphones.

  • The Huawei Honor 6 sports a 5 inch 1080p touchscreen LTPS display
  • Inside, we get an octa-core Huawei built, 1.7 Ghz Kirin 920 processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM
  • The memory department consists of 16 GB internal memory and is expandable via a micro SD card slot
  • As for the imaging, we get a 13 MP AF camera with an LED flash on the back, and a 5 MP sensor up front
  • Lastly there is the battery which is a massive 3100 mAh unit powering Android KitKat 4.4 with Huawei’s Emotion UI on top

The Huawei Honor 6 will be available in black and white for a price tag of Rs 19,999 and will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting from the 6th of October. At this price we could easily see it competing with Micromax’s Canvas 4 Plus A315 that was launched yesterday but comes with just a gig of RAM compared to Huawei’s offering. You can also include the XOLO Play 8X-1200 to that list.
