Delhi Police's Special Cell For Women Goes Online

Website and FB page contain information regarding redressal and complaint filing process.

Delhi Police is all set for an image makeover as it launched an official website for its Special Police Unit For Women and Children (SPUWC). The main aim of the website will be to help women getting every bit of useful information regarding redressal along with process involved in filing complaints with the SPUWC. Suman Nalwa, Additional DCP SPUWC also added that the Special Unit is also available on Facebook and Twitter, making it easy for women to contact them though any of these online mediums.

At the launch, National Commission of Women (NCW) Chairperson Mamta Sharma said, "There are many laws and acts in our country but lack of implementation is the reason for problems faced by women.{C} This pattern followed by Delhi Police to help women should be replicated by all the states so that women at Panchayat and block level can also benefit from it". She also added that the website should also be available in Hindi so that more people can use the service with ease. Let us just hope that with this move, women will be able to get justice in time and in a dignified manner.
