Yahoo Launches All-New Mail App For iPad

Squeezes in more services than you will ever need.

After fiddling with the iOS and Android Yahoo Mail apps, Yahoo has now launched an all-new mail app for the iPad. The app just like the recently updated iOS and Android counterparts will deliver more than just mail. Yahoo claims to deliver what is a full-screen experience, which has obviously been designed to force more content from its services to its customers.

The UI is pretty much similar to the recently updated iOS and Android apps and adds the Mail, News and Today tabs to the top right hand corner of your screen. While your mail is always visible, the app will switch to a full screen reading mode, if you happen to tap on an article in the News or Today feed.

The article then opens in a full-screen view, leaving your mail app running in the background. Clearly Yahoo is designing some really good-looking apps for iOS and Android, it is probably doing that because it becomes a lot easier to deliver news content from its website to the apps targetting users who frequently check like their email.

So if you are the type who gets diverted rather than focussing on what you opened the app for, then this is the app for you. Else you could always stick to the default mail app on your iPad which gets the job done better.
