Micromax's Unannounced Canvas Duet AE90 Available Online For Rs 8,678

Prospective buyers will be better off looking at a Moto E which is cheaper and offers similar or better specs.

 

Homegrown smartphone manufacturer Micromax is all-set to launch a new budget device called the Canvas Duet AE90. The device is already listed on two leading e-commerce sites at Rs 9,150 and Rs 8,678, but there has been no official announcement from the company yet.

The Micromax Canvas Duet features a 4.5-inch qHD display (540x960 pixels) and runs on a rather outdated version of Google's Android 4.1 JellyBean. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. In terms of imaging the phone comes with a 5MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front-facing shooter.

On board storage stands at 4GB, while it can be expanded up to a maximum of 32GB via a micro SD card slot. The Canvas Duet is powered by a 1,800mAh battery which is rated at 5.5 hours of talktime and 150 hours of standby time.

The phone supports dual SIM cards (GSM + CDMA) and connectivity options include 3G (EV-DO), Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 3.0. The unannounced Canvas Duet AE90 is currently the cheapest GSM+CDMA handset from Micromax, with the other tow devices being the Canvas Blaze HD and Canvas Duet II.

All three devices run on Android 4.1 JellyBean, but the Blaze HD and Duet II feature HD displays with screen sizes of 5-inch and 5.3-inch respectively. While the Blaze HD is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 processor, the Duet II features a 1.2GHz dual-core MediaTek processor.
