Micromax Launches 8” Canvas Tab P650 With Phone Functionality

The Jelly Bean device packs in a 1.2 GHz CPU and 5 megapixel camera.

These days Micromax is bringing out (or perhaps rebadging?) devices at a very steady pace. After unveiling a trio of new phones earlier this month, it's now time for a tablet. Called the Canvas Tab P650, the new slate sports an 8" IPS display, but Micromax hasn't shed light on details such as pixel density. There's a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor ticking inside coupled with 1 GB of RAM. Hopefully, this will be enough to handle Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean and some casual gaming. The tablet comes pre-loaded with Spuul, Music Hub, Opera Mini, M! Live, and M! Security. The-inbuilt storage is 16 GB, with microSD card support for up to 32 GB.

Along with 3G data support, the tablet also offers voice calling facility. Micromax claims that the 4800 mAh battery can last for 5 hours of web browsing. The Canvas Tab P650 is available in White and Blue with a price tag of Rs 16,500. Its closest rival is XOLO Tab, which costs around Rs 13,500. However, the Micromax's offering has an edge with more megapixels on the camera and higher battery capacity.
