Even as you may be waiting for Instagram to bring out an official app for the Windows Phone 8 platform, there is 6tag — a third party app that can do it all. Designed by French developer Rudy Huyn, 6tag can do almost everything that the official Instagram app does on other platforms. You can access all the original Instagram filters including XPro-II, Earlybird, Rise, Amaro, Lo-Fi, and Toaster in addition to custom-built effects. It also allows you to record videos with cutscenes and upload them with effects, and there is support for sharing to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr, VK, and Foursquare. This unofficial app was earlier named 6tagram, but changed its name to 6tag after Instagram recently revised its guidelines for third-party developers using its API.

Users can also unleash their creativity via the Linear and Radial Tilt-Shift blur effects for extra DoF (depth of field). There is no limit on the number of uploads and it is possible to geotag posts. You can also post comments and likes images via the app. The app supports front as well as rear cameras capture photos/videos. This free app is definitely worth a try.
