Sony Confirms PS4 Games Playability From Multiple Consoles

Players can log into their PSN accounts on a friend's PS4 to start playing their own games. `

Sony has confirmed that gamers will be able to play their PS4 games using their PlayStation Network account from any PS4 console. Dubbed as "Play As you Download", the new feature will allow players to start playing the game as it downloads from their digital library on the server, and stream the game to any console. While this will require a decent internet connection, it saves the time required to wait for the entire game to download. Incidentally, Microsoft had earlier announced a similar feature known as "family sharing" for its Xbox One console, but has since removed it.

Once again, the Sony-Microsoft console war seems to be heating up. While the Xbox One comes bundled with the new Kinect, is priced higher than the PS4. The PS4 is likely to support stereoscopic 3D just like the PS3, but there is no such feature mentioned about the Xbox One. Furthermore, the Xbox One will not be available in India until the later part of 2014, while Sony has made no such announcement and so may start retailing it earlier to capture the console gaming market. While Microsoft still continues to boast of the set-top box like features of its upcoming console, Sony continues to keep revealing new features that may turn the tide in its favour.
