Chinese smartphone brand Gionee has launched a low-cost quad-core smartphone in India. This smartphone called Gionee CTRL V4 is priced at Rs 10,000, and comes with a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. The CTRL V4 smartphone runs Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), and comes with a 4.5" display, 5 MP primary camera, and provides dual-SIM support to users. The detailed tech-specs of the device include:

  • 4.5" FWVGA display with 480x854 pixels.
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
  • 1.2 GHz Cortex A7 quad-core processor.
  • Dual-SIM support.
  • 5 MP Autofocus rear snapper; VGA front camera.

  • MicroSD card slot with support for up to 32GB.

Considering the price of the smartphone, the Gionee CTRL V4 competes with the Xolo Q700 that also has a quad-core processor, runs on the Android 4.2 and is priced at Rs 9990. Xolo Q700 has identical tech-specs as that of Gionee CTRL V4, except that the former comes with a better 2400 mAh battery, and has a 1 GB RAM.
