Rumour: Karbonn Titanium S6 Smartphone To Launch By July

The smartphone is expected to be launched in July this year, and rival the top-end Micromax model.

Karbonn, which challenged Micromax (especially the A116 Canvas HD) with its twin quad-core offerings, the Titanium S1 (Price: Rs 11K) and Titanium S5 (Price: Rs 12K), is now seemingly looking at challenging Micromax again, this time with a new member of the series, the Titanium S6.

An NDTV Gadgets report states that the Titanium S6 would be priced under Rs 20K. Micromax's latest, the Canvas 4 is also expected to be priced under Rs 20,000, and the latter is also expected to be opened for pre-booking from 28th June. NDTV Gadgets also says that the new Titanium smartphone would provide users a Stylus similar to the one Samsung provides with its GALAXY Note range. Details about the technical specifications are not yet confirmed at this juncture, but we expect Karbonn's Titanium S6 to run the latest of the platform with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, have a 5-inch full HD display (which has been the norm, as of late in smartphone competition), and have quad-core processing.

Since the Indian smartphone market is crowded with quad-core, low-priced and full-HD display smartphones, like Wickedleak's Wammy passion Z (price Rs 15K), Karbonn's very own Titanium quad-core series (without full HD display of course), Micromax's Canvas series, and the most recent Lemon A4 (price Rs 19K) that has a 5-inch full-HD display, Karbonn's Titanium S6 may need a lot to get past even lesser known Indian brands.
