XOLO Q1000 With 5" HD Screen Available Online For Rs 15,000

The Jelly Bean smartphone features a 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU, 8 mp camera, and dual-SIM functionality.

XOLO has come up with a new quad-core phone that takes on the highly popular Micromax HD A116. Dubbed as Q1000, the phone sports a 5" IPS screen with pixel dimensions of 720x1280. Similar to the recently reviewed, Panasonic P51, the new XOLO device features a scratch resistant Dragon Trail Glass. The 8 megapixel autofocus camera is backed by a BSI (back side illuminated) sensor, which should help improve low-light photography. On the software front, this dual-SIM device offers Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. Detailed tech specs of the Xolo Q1000 are as follows:

  • 5" IPS screen with 720x1280, Features a scratch resistant Dragon Trail Glass.
  • Powered by Mediatek MT6589 chipset, 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU coupled with PowerVR SGX544 GPU.
  • 8 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, backed by BSI sensor.
  • 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera.
  • 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, MicroSD card slot.
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB port.
  • Dual-SIM (GSM), Supports 3G.
  • Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).
  • 2100 mAh battery.

The Xolo Q1000 is priced at Rs. 15,000, but can be purchased for a few hundred rupees less from certain online retailers. Be it price or specs, there's very little separating this phone from the Canvas A116 HD with the exception of the scratch resistant glass and the latest Android version. Since I haven't used this Xolo handset, I won't talk about its performance. However, from our past experience, XOLO phones are generally better built than those from Micromax.
