Blackberry Z10: Now Pre-Order From Unofficial Sources

Saholic.com and eBay have the Blackberry Z10 listed for sale.

Blackberry Z10, which was launched with much fanfare, is now up for pre-booking at a price of Rs 45,000. Online retailer Saholic.com claims to deliver the Blackberry Z10 in 18 business days after pre-booking — a long waiting time by itself. On the other hand, sellers on eBay India offer pre-bookings for the Z10 at an exorbitant price of Rs 59,000.

For context, one can buy an Apple iPhone 5 32 GB and still have some money left for accessories, at that price. One wonders how the high prices by sellers on e-commerce sites will find acceptance in India. Sure, the Blackberry Z10 is yet to be officially released in India, but rumour claims the Z10 will arrive on 25th February.

Research In Motion, now Blackberry, launched the Z10 along with another smartphone; Q10 at an event on 30th January. This launch is being seen as another attempt by the maker to start afresh and capture some share in the smartphone market. It has incorporated the Blackberry 10 OS (Blackberry's latest software platform) in both the Z10 and Q10. For technical specifications of the Z10 and Q10, click here.

The Z10 and Q10 have already hit Canadian markets with a price tag of approximately $150 on a three-year contract — those low prices won't be seen in India as we generally don't buy phones on contract from telecom operators here.
