Nokia Asha 205 Lands In India For Rs 3500

QWERTY dual-SIM phone features a dedicated Facebook button and 0.3 MP camera.

Showcased last month, the Asha 205 is finally available in India. As the number suggests, this dual-SIM (GSM) phone is a successor to the popular Asha 200. The 205 features a full QWERTY keyboard and dedicated Facebook and Messaging buttons. It's the first cellphone to have Nokia's new "Slam" file sharing technology. With this, you can instantly send files over Bluetooth to the nearest device without first having to pair with it. Thanks to Nokia's EasySwap tech, you can replace the secondary SIM card without having to turn off the device. Here are the detailed tech specs:

  • Series 40 Asha.
  • Dual-SIM GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz).
  • 2.4" 65k colour QVGA landscape QWERTY TFT display.
  • VGA camera.
  • Up to 10 MB free user memory; up to 32GB micro-SD card.
  • Dedicated Facebook and messaging buttons.
  • Nokia Slam, Bluetooth v2.1.
  • GPRS/EDGE, 2.0 mm charger connector, 3.5 mm audio jack.
  • 4.44" (h) x 2.4" (w) x 0.51" (d); weighs 94 grams.
  • 1020 mAh battery.
  • Available Colours: Cyan, Magenta, Orange.

As we speculated earlier, Nokia has priced the Asha 205 at Rs 3500. Nokia's recent tie-up with EA means users can download up to 40 premium games for free.

Considering the price tag, the handset's specs are reasonable except for the 0.3 mp lens — we'd have expected at least a 2 mp snapper.
