Microsoft Edge To Bring Background Downloading In Future Updates

Though it was announced earlier that Background Downloading may not be a part of the new browser, Bateman has now revealed it via a Tweet.

Previously known as Project Spartan, Microsoft Edge, the next generation browser for the Windows 10 Mobile is all set to replace the infamous Internet Explorer.

While we know that the new browser is designed to address many criticisms faced by its predecessor and provide a better user experience, it has recently been revealed that the new browser would be receiving a future update which would allow background downloads for its users.

To add in more, Microsoft Edge which will be available on Windows 10 Mobile may soon roll out updates for it bringing many new features.

One of the future updates has been revealed by the Microsoft Edge Program manager Ade Bateman as a feature allowing users to close the browser without having to worry about their current downloads being paused.

This information comes in as a reply by Ade Bateman to a recent tweet asking about the background downloading in Edge.

Bateman however, has not yet revealed the exact details as to when it will be arriving, but rather has has simply informed that it may probably won't be in the first release.

To recall, the company has previously informed background downloading not to be a part of the new browser. Yet, it seems that the tweet by Bateman may have been a sigh of relief to many.
