OnePlus One Launch In India Imminent; Amazon To Take Charge

The retail giant is geared up to handle the sales of what is one of the much-awaited smartphones to come to India this year.

Yes, the launch of the OnePlus One smartphone will happen any moment now. While the smartphone has been on sale for quite a few months since its launch in April, Indian fans have had to wait a really long time to get their hands on the One. While we knew for sure that OnePlus would be selling the phone via its well-known invite system, it is indeed a bit shocking to see Amazon India take over for sales, this is because they are the ones who have begun teasing the smartphone online.

While the teaser tries to hide the back of the phone, it does not take much to figure out that this is a OnePlus One. The company had recently announced via its official blog that it will be giving current owners of the OnePlus One in India the full warranty treatment. These are the owners who have managed to acquire a One in the past few months. But the Chinese smartphone maker has put down a few terms for the same.

Director or OnePlus Global, Carl Pei had promised that the smartphone would come to India, but also made things clear by mentioning that it would retain the invite system, even though globally the company is moving to the pre-order system. While the invite system does hold more weight; since those with an invite can easily jump the pre-order queue and get OnePlus one, we aren’t pretty clear where Amazon steps in as of now. Is OnePlus going by Xiaomi’s sales model? Only time will tell.
