Samsung GALAXY Core II To Hit Stores This Week

Recently announced in Germany, the company seems to be in a hurry to out its KitKat-powered budget devices.

Samsung is likely to roll out its Samsung GALAXY Core II handsets in stores this week, according to reports. The handset that was recently announced in Germany along with GALAXY Ace 4 and the Galaxy Young 2 will be available at a maximum retail price of Rs 13,390.

While there is no news about the other two budget handsets, the Core II is not all that great when it comes to hardware specifications. The handset packs in a 4.5 inch WXGA (800 x 480 pixel ) display and will be powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor (most probably a MediaTek). As for the rest of the internals, the handset is said to come with just 768 MB of RAM along with 4 GB of internal memory which is expandable all the way up to 64 GB thanks to a micro SD card slot.

On the back we have an 5 MP camera with an LED flash, while the front-facing one is a puny 0.3 MP one. Powering all of the above is a 2000 mAh battery which considering the large screen size and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI would not last too long.

The KitKat-powered handset would be available in Black and White and will compete with the local brands in the Indian market that deliver a lot more at a similar price tag.
