Snapdragon 805-Powered LG G3 Shows Up For Bluetooth SIG Certification

While the LG G3 is yet to start selling globally, LG apparently is readying a special edition which may be only for Korea.

A handset tagged as the LG F460S has surfaced at Bluetooth SIG for certification. While the world and India are yet to see the LG G3 in stores, LG is preparing another beefier edition of the G3 which is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor.

What is interesting is that the last time we heard of a Quad HD specd device was from Samsung and was destined only for its homeland in Korea. Again the model number also signifies that the handset may be headed to one of the Korea’s cellphone operators. The alphabet ‘L’ which had leaked earlier with LG F460L could indicate that the handset will be network locked and will head for LG U+ while the the F460S may be headed to SK Telecom.

It’s rather strange why manufacturers allot the beefier versions of their handsets for the local markets only, while the world gets slightly slower version of the same. Samsung did it before with GALAXY S4 and once again with the GALAXY S5 recently.

We guess that there is something bigger coming; may be handsets sporting the newer 64-bit processors in the next year. This could be why manufacturers are not taking bigger leaps in hardware and sticking to the standard stuff for now.
