Leaks Point To A Quad HD Future For Samsung’s Flagship

If the rumors are correct Samsung may be building a future-proof Quad HD GALAXY S5.

The rumour mills are churning out some really interesting insights when it comes to the most anticipated Android smartphone of the year—The GALAXY S5. Hopefully, Samsung's upcoming smartphone will be more than just an incremental update over the GALAXY S4.

Russian blogger and mobile insider, Eldar Muratzin tweeted yesterday that this year’s Samsung flagship will most probably sport a 5.24 inch AMOLED 2560 x 1440 Quad HD display, which in all probability would be the world’s first Quad HD display on a mobile phone. The display will go shoulder-to-shoulder with the Vivo Xplay 3S and Miezu MX3 successor the MX4G; the only difference being that the S5 would be available worldwide. However, do take this information with a pinch of salt, as Eldar has a very bad track record when it comes to fact checking.

The mobile insider also claimed that the battery is expected to be a 3200 mAh unit, which should be a relief considering the number of pixels the processor would have to push. Fuelling those pixels will be an Exynos 6 or a Snapdragon 805 chipset with a healthy 3 GB of RAM. The camera would also feature a 16 MP unit which is a step-up to the already capable 13 MP unit available on the GALAXY S4.

With earth-shattering displays and processors headed our way we can only imagine what this would do to the future of mobile gaming and camera tech.
