Rumour: Samsung Still Flirting With Windows Phone OS

Samsung, the leader of Android pack hasn't given up on Microsoft's platform yet.

Remember Samsung's Windows Phone Focus that was launched back in 2010? Well, it sported one of the best AMOLED displays on a Windows Phone device back then. The phone was much better than HTC’s bulkier offerings.

Unfortunately, Samsung was never ‘focused’ on Microsoft's platform since their Android devices were selling like hot cakes. Even though a new report from ABI Research just reported a 104% year-over-year growth in Windows Phone sales, didn't roll out any WP8 device last year.

In a strange turn of events, @evleaks has reported that Samsung is in fact deciding on a new Windows Phone; this time on Verizon. The device has been codenamed ‘Huron’. Interestingly, the leak also suggests that it could be the first device to ship with Windows Phone 8.1.

Is Samsung planning to embrace the Windows Phone platform now that it seems to have matured a bit? Or is it just another Samsung GALAXY-esq device that it releases on a yearly basis just to keep their toes dipped into this market?
