Steve Ballmer Bids A Tearful Adieu To Microsoft

Goes out singin and dancing, typical Ballmer-style.

Steve Ballmer took over the operating reins from the very docile and quiet Bill Gates in 2000. As a CEO, he is all the more vocal, jovial, and is always seen hopping and jumping with unfazed enthusiasm. In fact at CES 2013, which Microsoft stopped headlining, Ballmer's appearance came as a respite for not just Qualcomm CEO, but also the audience at large. As the charismatic CEO steps down after 13 long and eventful years at the helm of things to get a worthy successor, his parting note to fellow Microsoft employees was a Ballmer trademark.

Through the cheers, tears, and a few laughs, Ballmer has finally left centre stage to find a new CEO to the company. After several successful acquisitions (Nokia and Skype… well the acquisitions were successful, whether it was a smart move, that time will tell), hopefully Microsoft will be back on its way to being the success it once was. In the meantime, checkout Ballmer's parting note to his co-workers in the video below. The entire event has been described by The Verge, which you can read here.
